Sure Shot Boys is a Montreal-based hip-hop group made up of Liftoff, Larso and Karlito Da Kid — three artists, producers and longtime friends whose shared history stretches back decades.
Long before Sure Shot Boys existed, their lives were already connected in Anjou. All three attended École secondaire d'Anjou. Liftoff and Karlito played together for the Anjou Lions basketball team, while Liftoff's younger brother, Nutzo, played on the school's younger squad alongside Larso. Liftoff and Karlito also shared an early chapter in hip-hop as members of the breaking crew Flow Rock.
Their musical histories continued to intertwine through Sparka Brodaz. Liftoff stood at the forefront as one of the group's primary MCs. Karlito Da Kid was part of its early production history, becoming the group's second producer after Blaze, now known as City Parks. Larso joined Sparka Brodaz later in the journey, first developing as an MC before becoming its third producer and eventually its main producer for several years. He has remained a member of Sparka Brodaz ever since.
Sure Shot Boys is the latest chapter in those decades of shared history. What sets the group apart is a chemistry that cannot be manufactured. Their music moves naturally between English and French — not simply by placing verses in different languages side by side, but through genuine exchanges where members can respond to one another across languages within the same song. For bilingual listeners, the conversation is immediate and complete.
Between them, the group brings together decades of experience in rapping, production and independent creation. Built on sharp lyricism, hard production, brotherhood, loyalty, craftsmanship, perseverance and a refusal to chase trends, Sure Shot Boys makes raw, clever and uncompromising hip-hop shaped by everything its members have lived through.
They came of age before the internet transformed music, when opportunities for independent hip-hop artists in Montreal were scarce. They grew up together, created together, took different paths and continued to evolve. Sure Shot Boys brings that experience back into one room — not as artists trying to recreate the past, but as men using everything the past taught them to build something new.
The group is not the beginning of their story. It is the latest chapter.
